People ask which senators are buying stocks, but the fresher corporate signal is Form 4 insider buying, filed within two business days. Here's the 60-second read.
First, the transaction code. P means open-market purchase: real money, your signal. S is a sale: usually noise. A, M, and F are grants, exercises, and tax withholding: ignore them. The code is the first and most important field on the whole form.
Second, the owner. CEO and CFO buys carry more weight than a junior officer's. Third, the dollars. A $50K buy from a director who owns $20M is a rounding error, while the same buy from a first-time director is a statement. Pull the filing on EDGAR, check those three fields, and you've done 90% of the work.
InsiderPulse does that triage for you: the free tier streams the latest Form 4 feed plus 5 cluster-buy alerts a month, $9/mo unlocks unlimited alerts and the screener, and $12/mo Pro adds congressional trades.
Three fields, sixty seconds. That's the whole skill.
